Hiking Mount Bisoke is one of the most rewarding one-day adventures in Rwanda, combining volcanic landscapes, rainforest trekking, and breathtaking views. Located within Volcanoes National Park, this hike takes you to a stunning crater lake at the summit an unforgettable highlight for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
The trek begins early in the morning at the park headquarters in Kinigi with a briefing from park rangers. From there, you’ll drive to the trailhead and start your ascent through dense bamboo forest and lush montane vegetation.
As you climb higher, the forest becomes thicker and more misty giving it that “jungle meets volcano” feeling. The trail can be muddy and steep in sections, but it’s manageable with a reasonable level of fitness.
